The Hon. Mr Justice F. Algernon Smith, CD
The economic well being of our country is being adversely affected by acts of corruption. The Corruption Prevention Act, among others, was promulgated with a view to combating this cancer. We cannot underestimate the role of the Commission in the fight against corruption. Corrupt public officials undermine good governance and endanger the essential trust which underpins the well being of society.
All of us must be concerned with the negative effects of corruption on our socio-economic stability.
The Commission is dedicated to increasing the public’s awareness of the need to foster integrity which undergirds public service as it pursues its objective to reduce, deter and prevent corruption in the public sector.
It is our hope that as a people we will resolve to join forces to fight the scourge of corruption.
The Hon. Mr. Justice Ferdinand Smith, C.D. (Retired)
Chairman, Commission for the Prevention of Corruption
